The new voice of the Colorado GOP?

Meet Ryan Frazier, Aurora city councilperson and potential GOP candidate for the United States Senate in 2010.  He doesn’t have the same name recognition – yet – of some of the other potential GOP candidates like Bob Beauprez but Frazier is quickly being recognized as an up-and-comer in the party.
The folks over at the People’s [...]

Sliding a slippery slope to a new America

This morning we woke to what I see as a rather scary news item – the United States government essentially firing the head of a private corporation.  News leaked out late yesterday that the Obama administration was requiring that General Motors fire CEO Rick Wagoner after the government did not accept GM’s turnaround plan.  The [...]

MetroNorth News sacks Obama’s PR campaign

In an editorial in the Northglenn-Thornton Sentinel this week, MetroNorth News editors take President Obama to task for his insistence on running a PR campaign rather than running the United States government.  In recent weeks we have seen Obama appear on Jay Leno (the first time a sitting president has appeared on late night TV), [...]

The Global War on Terror ends; No more Enemy Combatants

The new administration seems to think a war on words is better than actually worry about the fight.  Recently it was decided that the United States would no longer use the term ‘enemy combatant’.  As Dennis Miller said recently on the O’Reilly Factor about the decision, “You say tomato, I say intifada. I cannot believe [...]

Latest transportation stimulus projects get $73.6 million – North area gets nothing

The north Denver metro area once again gets nothing with the announcement of Governor Ritter’s latest picks for transportation stimulus funds.  Despite having one of the most congested sections of I-25, our needs continue to be brushed aside by the state.  Click here to see what projects did make the latest list.  I was told [...]

New design and new features are online

Our conversion to a new server software is pretty much complete and we are up and running!  Among the new features:

Comments – By far the most requested feature is the ability for you to leave comments about the articles.  This allows you to have your voice heard and share your opinion.  I have been anxious [...]

Parker mayor: RTD has now become the AIG of Colorado asking for a taxpayers’ bailout

In an email to his fellow metro area mayors, Parker mayor David Casiano has said he and the Parker city council will not back RTD’s money grab via another tax increase for the FasTracks boondoggle.  In part the mayor said:
“I will not sit silently by while this ballot issue emerges.  I will be outspoken…..  RTD has now [...]

RTD General Manager Cal Marsella gets raise and bonus despite failures

The man who is already Colorado’s highest paid public official is getting a nice raise and bonus despite the fact the agency he oversees is besieged by major problems.  Cal Marsella, RTD General Manager, whose base salary is already $290,286 will receive a 4.87 percent raise of $14,137 and a 12.5 percent bonus of $36,286.
According [...]

Obama decides charging wounded veterans isn’t a good idea

As we reported yesterday (click here for that story), the president proposed charging veterans with service-connected injuries for their medical care.   A large furor erupted over the thought and he has wisely chosen to back down.  The mere fact this was even considered speaks volumes and highlights that maybe veterans aren’t as big of a priority for the administration [...]

President Obama – Injured veterans to be charged for care

One thing will set me off quicker than anything – screwing with veterans.  To me, there are some things that are untouchable and veterans are one of them, especially injured veterans.
In a scheme that has steam coming out of my ears, President Obama intends to charge veterans with service connected injuries for the care they [...]
