postheadericon Not a good year for climate change alarmists

There is little doubt that 2009 will be viewed as a pivotal and important year in the debate about manmade climate change.  For years alarmists served up their theory to a seemingly captive audience.  This past year however, the sands shifted and scientists that doubt man’s influence on the climate found their voice.
Throughout the year, [...]

postheadericon Senator Max Baucus drunk on the Senate floor?

Slurred speech, stuttering, exaggerated gestures.  Sounds like at least some symptoms of someone being drunk and Senator Max Baucus (D – Montana) had all of them while giving a floor speech about health care last week.  Pretty odd.  Drudge has picked up the video so Baucus will no doubt have to address the issue – [...]

postheadericon Merry Christmas from Tony’s Rants!

Whether ‘left’ or ‘right’, Christmas is the one time of year that we should be able to set aside any differences we may have and simply enjoy the season and take time to remember the things that are truly important – faith, family and friends.  I wish everyone a very merry Christmas - may God bless [...]

postheadericon Build-A-Bear warns children there will be no Christmas because of climate change

Most parents are familiar with Build-A-Bear, a brick and mortar store that sells teddy bears and other stuffed animals that can be complete customized by your child.  They of course have a website and also have an online games site catering to children.  Kids can go on buildabearville.com, create a character and explore all sorts [...]

postheadericon Greepeace gets a taste of its own medicine

This is just too good to not share.  The United Nations Climate Change Conference has been going on in Copenhagen, Denmark for the past week-and-a-half.  It of course has brought together politicians, scientists and activists in an effort to solve the purported threat of manmade climate change.
Greenpeace as one might expect has a pretty big [...]

postheadericon CDOT never planned for additional general purpose lanes on I-25 in north area

This is one I came across a few months ago and kept forgetting to write about.  The north area has long been on the short stick of funding from the state and the Colorado Department of Transportation.  Now comes the little nugget that CDOT has never even planned to add additional general purpose lanes to I-25 [...]

postheadericon Adams County gets the short end of stimulus funds

Here is a real surprise - Adams County received less stimulus funds per capita that the vast majority of the rest of Colorado.  This is despite the fact that the county has one of the highest unemployment rates and the so-called stimulus was supposed to go toward job creation.

postheadericon Climategate email scandal continues to explode

Despite the mainstream media, governments and climate agencies trying to ignore it, Climategate just won’t go away.  New revelations are found in the stolen email archives every day and the unethical behavior of some of the world’s top climate scientists threatens to topple the manmade climate change theory.  This week the United Nations began their [...]

postheadericon RTD blows FasTracks estimates – Yes, again

On the heels of a report from the North Area Transportation Alliance (NATA) that slammed RTD for its poor management of FasTracks and budgeting that was totally unrealistic, RTD’s own special panel says the project faces an additional $1 billion shortfall.
You read that right.  This means that what was a $2.2 billion shortfall now is [...]

postheadericon RTD’s FasTracks – Timeline of a history of problems

Denver area voters approved FasTracks TaxTracks in 2004 and since then the project has turned into a massive boondoggle.  Costs have exploded, mismanagement runs rampant and RTD has been forced to cut parts of the project that were promised to the taxpayers.
Below is a partial list of events in the last two years  or so of the project.  Last update, April 14, 2010.
