The FasTracks BoondoggleI just finished reading the agenda and watching the video from the Tuesday, March 25th Thornton City Council meeting.  One thing in particular stands out - a resolution essentially demanding that RTD deliver on what was promised in regards to FasTracks.  The resolution further outlines concerns about the impact of changes to the project and the impact on quality of life and explains that the city expects them to be addressed.  Mayor Hansen in particular was very vocal in outlining the city's expectations and I am pleased to see this.

I have never been a fan of the FasTracks project, I voted against it and I still maintain it is a boondoggle of enormous proportions.  However, seeing council come around and begin to address these concerns is heartening.  Short of a repeal (unlikely) we are stuck with the project and it is imperative that the city holds RTD's proverbial feet to the fire.

Click here to watch the video - Select the March 25 meeting video and then move forward in the video to about the 35:40 mark to see the resolution read.
