A complete and utter failure of representative government
Never before in our nation’s history have we seen such a failure of our form of government as we witnessed yesterday with the passing of the health care legislation. A measure which has soundly been rejected by the citizens of this nation has been rammed down those same citizens’ throats in defiance of the people’s wishes.
In its most basic terms, we have a representative form of government – our elected officials represent us and are sent to Washington D.C. to carry out our will. They are not there to carry out their own, personal agenda and those that do have failed not only us, they have turned their back on the vision of our Founding Fathers.
Americans have acknowledged the need for health care reform – all reasonable people do.
What they have rejected is health care transformation which is what Obamacare offers. We have seen the vision offered by President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other progressives and we have told them unequivocally ‘no!’
Closer to home, Coloradoans echoed the national view of the issue. A majority of us have said we oppose the government takeover of the health care industry, we reject more government spending and we refuse to accept that the government knows better than we.
Despite overwhelming opposition, the House of Representatives defied the will of the people. They chose to ignore the mandate handed down to them over generations that they were to represent us, to reflect our views and our opinions.
Thornton’s representative, Jared Polis, and other members of the House of Representatives had an opportunity to stand with Jefferson, Adams, Franklin and the American people.
They chose Pelosi, Reid and Obama.
It is truly a sad day in America.

Hi, Is there a local effort underway to have Colorado join the other 38 states to enact legislation or a CO Constitutional amendment to opt out or block unfunded federal mandates associate with passage of Federal Health Care reform? How can I help or what can I do.. there seems to be a bunch of different groups that are disconnected from one another.
Traci,
Jon Caldera & the Independence Institute are taking up a ballot measure to assure Colorado’s independence from this. Get more info here:

As a former Coloradan and now a resident to the south in an even more corrupt state (N.M.) this sad situation does not surprise me. Just look at our God, oh I mean governor, he is above prosecution. As I near my 70th year, this will hurt me only for a few years, but my prodgeny will have to pay for this probably forever! Truly a sad day in our history.

Sad does not begin to describe it. Sadder is the fact that in the end despite all the fighting that is going to happen there is likely nothing that can be done.
