postheadericon CDOT porkulus spending stiffs the north metro area – as usual

Where is the north metro area's cut of the stimulus / porkulus money? The Colorado Department of Transportation has released its list of highway projects that will be done courtesy of Colorado’s share of the president’s “stimulus” money – $500 million worth.  Certainly the north I-25 corridor would receive some of that right?  After all, our part of I-25 is some of the most congested in the state and has long been neglected.  Well, think again. The list includes one thing for the north I-25 corridor – ramp metering at I-25 and 84th Ave.  That is it.

I realize that there is a finite amount of money to go around the state but this once again highlights how the state of Colorado ignores a huge part of the metro area.  They continue to ignore the Thornton area and act as if Denver ends at US-36 and I-25.

I would hope that our area politicos will raise a ruckus over this.  I am not a fan of the so-called “stimulus” plan at all but it is going forward so let’s get our share!
