Latest Rasmussen – Senator Michael Bennet loses to all takers
That’s gotta hurt! In the latest Rasmussen Reports poll of likely Colorado voters, Senator Michael Bennet is trailing all Republican challengers. Adding insult to injury for Democrats, should former state House Speaker Andrew Romanoff win the Democratic primary, he trails all Republicans as well.
Bennet’s seat is considered among the most vulnerable in the nation and the poll shows that. He trails Republican frontrunner Jane Norton by 12 percentage points, Tom Wiens by six points and Larimer County Attorney General Ken Buck by five.
The key thing to note as well is that in all respects, the Democrats are losing ground in the poll as the Republican challengers’ lead is growing. This certainly reflects ongoing dissatisfaction among the electorate with the way the nation is being run back in Washington D.C. People are ready for a change from the “change” they received last year.

Rasmussen sums it up like this:
Both Democrats appear stuck for now in the mid- to upper 30s, and one possible explanation may be the continuing debate over the national health care plan, which Bennet supports. Forty-one percent (41%) of Colorado voters support the plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats, while 53% oppose it. Nineteen percent (19%) strongly favor the plan, while 47% strongly oppose it. These findings are comparable to voter sentiments nationwide.
I think that paragraph is key in looking at not only Colorado’s upcoming election but the health care issue as a whole. People do not want socialized health care. Period. Those in power in Washington are bound and determined to defy the will of the people – the very people who they are supposed to represent. This shows the ignorance of power and the fact that our elected officials no longer represent we the people. It is time for them to go.
As a brief side note to the survey, it is disappointing that Rasmussen left off Cleve Tidwell on the Republican side. I believe he would have fared very well in the survey, possibly better than some of the other Republicans. With Colorado voters sick and tired of the good old boy club, Tidwell is the perfect outsider for them. He has no past ties to elected office and represents many of the center-right conservative values that Coloradoans do.
