Michelle Malkin takes note of Colorado’s U.S. Senate race

Michelle Malkin discussed the candidates for Colorado's U.S. Senate seat in a recent column.
Conservative pundit, author and relatively new Colorado resident Michelle Malkin has sounded off about “Big Government” Republicans. In a column titled “Conservatives: Beware of McCain Regression Syndrome”, Malkin praises recent successes at restoring the GOP to its roots but warns that there could be trouble on the horizon.
Malkin’s conservative credentials are above reproach and she is a favorite of the Tea Party movement for good reason. She certainly takes on the left but Malkin doesn’t hesitate in calling out problems on the ‘right side’ when she sees them.
The column discusses the reelection battle John McCain is fighting in Arizona where he faces his first tough primary challenge in years. Malkin notes how it is ironic that McCain is heavily courting conservatives while he has a history of bashing those very same people. “Savor the irony: After a career spent bashing the right flank of the party, Sen. McCain is now clinging to its coattails to save his incumbent hide,” she says.
Malkin points out that McCain and his PAC are supporting candidates in other states that many would consider RINOs (Republican In Name Only). Among the RINOs she counts Florida Governor Charlie Crist and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina who are running for United States Senate in Florida and California respectively.
Much closer to home though, Malkin discusses Colorado’s race for the Republican nomination for United States Senate and offers some interesting commentary:
In Colorado, McCain and his meddlers infuriated the state party by anointing former lieutenant governor Jane Norton to challenge endangered Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet. She’s a milquetoast public official who has served on a lot of task forces and GOP clubs – and who happens to be the sister-in-law of big Beltway insider Charlie Black. An estimated 40 percent of her coffers are filled with out-of-state money (and much of that is flowing from the Beltway).
The mini-McCain of Colorado claims to oppose “special interests,” but has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars from D.C. lobbyists at McCain’s behest – stifling the candidacy of strong conservative rivals led by grass-roots-supported Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck, an amnesty opponent whose aggressive illegal immigration prosecutions have earned him the rage of the far Left and big business Right. A recent Rasmussen poll showed Buck and another GOP candidate Tom Wiens beating Bennet – despite the huge cash and crony advantage of front-runner and blank-slate Jane.
OUCH! That hurts! I’m not sure how Jane Norton can do it but somehow she needs to shift the court of public opinion from things like this. Endorsements and pledges alone aren’t going to cut it.

I think you should stop following the money and watch the peoples choice, with big tea party and 912 support Mr. Cleve Tidwell . He is the real deal and has the I Caucus endorsement along with three other strong conservative endorsements. A businessman that stands apart from the GOP groupies and a real patriot , U.S. Marine and world business leader that can win this race. Hope you will give him some press and meet him. In fact you have met him I saw a picture of you with him in front of the capital somewhere. Please talk with him and then you will see, his support is big and he has run a fiscal conservative campaign on purpose and his entire staff id volunteer of which he has over 600 I was told. Now we are talking about dedication and a message we can believe in.
He is just now starting to bring in money to help with the primary which I believe the Tea Party people will see to it that he makes the ballot. He is as strong as we could ever want and will beat Bennett. Maybe the only one that can.
thanks Michelle, you could really help him and Colorado kick some butt. PLease contact him you will be glad you did.

It’s’ really too bad that the best man is ignored by Michelle. Cleve Tidwell has taken the Icaucus questionnaire and got 99%. He went through the interviews and has been talking to people across this state for almost a year.
He is a businessman, is not a lawyer and is not owned by lobbyist. He has never held a public offfice. Ah, breath of fresh air.. he has had to meet payroll, wants our border’s secure and all the laws currently on the books enforced, not just on “big business” but on all those that present a magnet including our Government’s policies.
He is well studied and is for the FairTax that repeals the government’s legal confiscation of wealth by taxing income, before it can be spent, saved or invested. He wants protection of the poor and the implementation of a tax that taxes consumption, which drains our resources, instead of wealth that which adds to our society.
Talk to him. Speand some time. Buck is a public office holder that knows nothing of meeting payroll. Jane is a lobbyist’s best friend, so is Tom. Buck is riding on the mommentum of his stands on illegal immigration, but we need more. He doesn’t know the economy like a businessman and he’s a lawyer. I’m tired of having the foxes guarding the hen house. Why else a 67,000 page tax code, a civil court system out of control and our criminal court system overloaded with our open borders, rights of everybody American Bar Association.
