The Denver area's biggest boondoggle just keeps getting better.  Numbers released from RTD today now say the project is $1.5 billion over budget.  Voters agreed to a $4.7 billion project so this means a whopping 31% over what they said yes to.  Absolutely amazing.  Of course they have a litany of excuses but in the end, taxpayers won't be getting what they agreed to.

"RTD General Manager Cal Marsella said today the agency can still deliver the basic program promised to voters but will have to cut elements of the projects, and consider handing over some routes to private companies."
