Former Denver Broncos running back Floyd Little has [finally] been selected as a finalist for the NFL Hall of Fame class of 2010. As one of two finalists from the Hall’s seniors committee, Little’s enshrinement is very close to a sure thing.
Broncos fans have long felt their team was under appreciated and if any one thing could be pointed to to validate their argument, Floyd Little and his lack of placement among the game’s greats would be the primary reason. Little arguably meant more to the team of his era than John Elway did to his and Little’s statistics put him at the top of the NFL record books at the time of his retirement.
Little told DenverBroncos.com:
“I’m telling you, I’m elated. It’s just unbelievable. I don’t know what to say. There have been so many Broncos fans who have been so supportive and have signed petitions and have really been wanting this to happen. I can’t thank the Broncos organization and their fans any more.”
To truly appreciate all that Floyd Little accomplished in his life and career, see the links below. And, if you can, pick up a copy of his book Floyd Little’s Tales from the Broncos Sideline. It is an amazing story.
Tony’s Rants would like to congratulate Mr. Little on this this extraordinary honor and thank him for his years as a Denver Bronco!
