postheadericon Remembering September 11, 2001

Downtown New York on September 11, 2001Today marks the eighth anniversary of that fateful day when terrorists brought a fight to our homeland like which we had only seen one time before.  Certainly very little good can be said about that day but in the days and weeks that followed, a sense of patriotism and togetherness grew and our nation became one like it hadn’t been in a very long time.  Sadly that feeling of ‘one nation’ was quickly replaced with the usual bickering, finger pointing, and incriminations and we lost sight of the most important things.

I often times write special messages on Veterans Day and Memorial Day and have twice written on Patriot Day.  Of the three, the Patriot Day messages were the hardest to write as it all still hurts so much to this day.  Rather than try to write another message this year, I simply ask that you read the message I wrote on the fifth anniversary of the attacks.  I think the message is still very much applicable today – follow the link below to read it.
