Charlie Gibson’s and ABC’s Sarah Palin hatchet job
Having watched all of Sarah Palin’s interview with Charlie Gibson I initially was a bit taken back as some of Palin’s answers were a bit rough and I expected better. I did take note that the first part of the interview shown on World News Tonight on Thursday had some rather rough editing cuts that seemed really odd. Further, I knew the excerpt they showed of Palin’s speech in church talking about the military’s mission in Iraq was severely cut and did not show the proper context.
Doing some research, we quickly find out that ABC did some pretty danged “creative editing” of the interview. Transcripts show key portions of Palin’s and Gibson’s comments were cut out and the result entirely changed the context and complexion of the interview. Any objective person, after reading what was really said, would have a hard time arguing that Gibson and ABC did not show quite a bias in what they chose to show. It is very disheartening.
On a more personal note, Gibson was quite condescending and I wanted to knock those puny glasses off of his face as he looked down his nose at Palin.
