postheadericon Kerry says, get educated, or ‘get stuck in Iraq’

Nice bit of sentiment from the man who almost became the Commander in Chief.  Absolutely amazing that someone would say this and then, not admit he mispoke.

UPDATED:  Okay, now Kerry says he mispoke but didn’t do a lot better…  Click read more…

The latest as reported from CNN:

A Kerry aide told CNN that the prepared statement, which had been designed to criticize President Bush, “was mangled in delivery.”

Kerry was supposed to say, “I can’t overstress the importance of a great education. Do you know where you end up if you don’t study, if you aren’t smart, if you’re intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq.”

Okay, hold on, let’s think about this…  He obviously is bashing President Bush saying the President is not as intellectual because he did not do well in school.  Well, let’s check into that…

“In 1999, The New Yorker published a transcript indicating that Bush had received a cumulative score of 77 for his first three years at Yale and a roughly similar average under a non-numerical rating system during his senior year.

Kerry, who graduated two years before Bush, got a cumulative 76 for his four years, according to a transcript that Kerry sent to the Navy when he was applying for officer training school. He received four D’s in his freshman year out of 10 courses, but improved his average in later years.”

Well, well, well.  I guess Mr. Kerry has forgotten that he isn’t exactly a rocket scientist himself not doing any better at Yale than the President!  You can read more here if you are interested:  http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2005/06/07/yale_grades_portray_kerry_as_a_lackluster_student/

In the meantime, I now see AMVETS and the American Legion are on the warpath about Kerry’s blunder.  Personally, even taking into account that he may have mispoke, he was attempting to use the military and the war as a political football and that is not right.  I also tend to think this shows the typical disdain he and his type have for the military, even if they are veterans themselves.
