Quick rant – the Postal Service and healthcare
Amusing… I was just sitting here watching the president’s town hall in Grand Junction, CO. A person asks how private medical companies can be expected to compete with the federal government who doesn’t even have to maintain a balanced book.
The president says private companies can and do compete with the government successfully and he used UPS/FedEx versus the U.S. Postal Service as an example. Not a great one to use. The USPS lost $2.4 billion in the last quarter and is forecast to lose $7 billion this year. If the government can’t manage something as simple as mail delivery, do we really think they can handle healthcare?
