Um, Obama's, uh, halo.Okay, I just have to get this off my chest.  During the presidential campaign the mainstream media fell all over themslves talking about what a great orator President Obama was – they still do in fact.  I freely admit that when he gives a formal speech, he does quite well.  However, when he isn’t reading from a teleprompter, he struggles mightily to come up with words and honestly comes across very poorly.  You really should watch him in the unscripted comments he makes and take note of the number of “um’s” and “uh’s” he says.

Last night I watched the presidential news conference for the sole purpose of an experiment – counting the number of time he said “um” and “uh”.  What was the tally?

During the approximately 50 minutes that the question and answer part of the press conference lasted, the president said “uh” or “um” 181 times.  That equates to just over an average of one “uh” or “um” every 16 seconds!

This is a great orator?  Ronald Reagan he is not on this front.
