Video: Why it sucks to be a conservative

Yes, it sucks to be a conservative - although not as much as it sucks to be a flaming liberal. (YouTube / BillWhittleChannel)
Arguably one of the worst things about being a conservative is that we are the bearers of bad news and provide a sharp dose of reality. Our mantra that nothing is free, that personal responsibility is a virtue and standards of conduct matter may not resound with everyone but they are true. Bill Whittle released a new video that pretty much sums up why we conservatives suck.
It may not be what people want to hear, but nothing is free.
Healthcare is not free and no, you don’t get to keep your current healthcare plan despite what President Obama said. Further, yes, your healthcare costs are going to go up under Obamacare and most likely they already have.
For those 10 people still standing as part of the Occupy protests, sorry, your education is not free. You took out the loans for tens of thousands of dollars and yes, you do have to pay it back. Our government that spends more on entitlements than anything else simply can’t bail you out.
In life, you are the one ultimately responsible for your actions. If you have a fat kid, don’t blame McDonald’s, blame yourself. It is not usually someone else’s fault for your lot in life, despite what liberals have told you.
It sucks to be a conservative because we have personal standards of conduct that we try to live by. Do we live up to them all of the time? Certainly not. However we believe there are expectations that we as individuals should endeavor to live up to and that others should as well. Without these, we would be a society severely lacking morality (and in many ways already are).
So yes, it does suck to be a conservative. Bill Whittle’s latest Firewall pretty much sums it up in a very elegant way.
I have Tricare, and although the decrease was slight, the premium cost went down by a few dollars this last year. I expect as some of the wrinkles get worked out of the new system we will see some decreases, but the bigger gain is we are avoiding the much larger increases that would have happened had President Obama not gone to the trouble of working on a better systems.
