Adams 12 to name new aquatics center in honor of veterans

Adams 12 Five Star Schools will name the new aquatics center in honor of veterans.
Certainly I am the first one to take Adams 12 Five Star Schools to task when they do something wrong. Conversely, it is very important to applaud the district when they do something right and yesterday they did something that I find extraordinary.
The district announced that the new aquatics center on 136th & Holly will be named ‘Adams 12 Five Star Schools Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center.’ This is an amazing tribute to our nation’s veterans and shows that the district is dedicated to ensuring that our nation’s veterans – many of them Adams 12 alumni – are not forgotten. Veterans will be remembered in perpetuity at this new facility with their name forever emblazoned on it.
Adams 12 has long shown an admirable dedication to our veterans. The district is one of the few in the Denver area that observes Veterans Day as a day off thus allowing employees and students an opportunity to spend the day remembering our veterans. Adams 12 made the right move for our veterans – Bravo Zulu!
Similarly, work continues on the Thornton Veterans Memorial. With a greater level of support from citizens, businesses, area organizations and the City of Thornton, veterans can – and will – have a place of honor within the city. Please visit the Thornton Veterans Memorial website and make a contribution to the project today!
