Thornton Council Passes Resolution Demanding RTD Deliver
I just finished reading the agenda and watching the video from the Tuesday, March 25th Thornton City Council meeting. One thing in particular stands out – a resolution essentially demanding that RTD deliver on what was promised in regards to FasTracks. The resolution further outlines concerns about the impact of changes to the project and the impact on quality of life and explains that the city expects them to be addressed. Mayor Hansen in particular was very vocal in outlining the city’s expectations and I am pleased to see this.
I have never been a fan of the FasTracks project, I voted against it and I still maintain it is a boondoggle of enormous proportions. However, seeing council come around and begin to address these concerns is heartening. Short of a repeal (unlikely) we are stuck with the project and it is imperative that the city holds RTD’s proverbial feet to the fire.

Thornton City Council is now putting it’s weight behind some results of a economic disaster.
I support councils position on this and ask the residents of Thornton in every ward to support council by holding RTD representatives in Thornton to the measure they need to be.
I Support Mayor Hansen fully in his endeavor. I know that Mayor Hansen has felt strongly about the RTD Project for quite some time. The citizens of Thornton need to tell RTD to quit spending our money until a resolution has been reached to positively give Thornton FasTracks in reasonable amount of time. Great Job Mayor!
